i’m not scared anymore.

well, a few things. mostly talking about what happened yesterday.

yesterday was the two month anniversary of me and leigh. only i couldn’t phone her, but i got the best text ever from her, actually made my day amazing.

whilst out yesterday, i came across a lovely man windboarding. i took some pictures (which i used for a sf0 task), here he is in all his glory. he was a really nice bloke as well, told me all about it and how it keeps him fit and stuff. he also allowed me to take pictures!
windsurf

anyway, what else happened on thursday? well, my time.space.repeat cd FINALLY came! TSR are a band that i’ve befriended from DiS, and i must say they are very talented. sort of post-rock, so far they’ve released an ep and an album. they’re very good! i’ve listened through the album a few times (favourite track probably being “blue skies”) and the ep lots (i love “end of the world”). i hope they make it big! i recommend you go listen to them, i think their album is on their myspace for your listening pleasure. definitely for fans of the likes of gregor samsa.

i finally finished my university work! i’ve been fretting over it for a while now, but it’s finally done. i just hope i bloody pass! i celebrated in style (in the form of 10 malborough reds, i thought it was a special occasion and i haven’t smoked much recently) and now i feel great. and i get to see leigh tomorrow so huzzah! life is good! (i bet you weren’t expecting that from a teenager’s blog eh?) (why am i bracketing things lots in this post? i don’t know).

i should be your four leaf clover.

hmm.

okay, so whats new? well i signed up to this amazing site called sf0. basically, you create a fictional avatar, usually yourself, and go about doing tasks on the site. only, it works a bit differently. you do the tasks in real life, then submit evidence for completion of the site. there’s some great tasks to do, right now i’m going to do one in which you have to stand on a street corner and wait for something fantastic to happen. i love it. so far i’ve done two tasks, one being the initial “upload a picture of your avatar” and another in which i had to create a spoem. i’ve recieved 3 votes which is awesome! my username is Dicko if you’re on it.

other then that, nothing much has happened recently. i’ve cut my thumb, we found hentai pictures in the college toilets and nothing else has really happened. boring eh?

silently reflection turns my world to stone.

well, this is it. crunch time. in about 15 seconds i have to do a presentation on what i’ve learned in 3d modelling this year. which isn’t much. and in a week, my whole university work has to be handed in. i haven’t started it. but don’t worry, it’ll get done. the thing is, this year has been so dull. absolutely. there’s been nothing but writing essays and reports, doing research for nothing, and practical work is currently unheard of. apart from sound for games where we occasionally make a bit of music, but then we have to write a report on what we did anyway. i just hope university isn’t this bad.

i have approximately £13 spare for tomorrow (after travel costs). i hope that’s enough. suddenly i’m not so excited to see the golden compass anymore. i’ve read a few comments at drowned in sound and they all say its badly done.  and i hope i get my money next week. ugh this week has been so bad.

i’ll stop moaning. now, music. over at theguardian.co.uk, they’ve compiled their top 20 albums of 2007. it’s a decent list, featuring the arcade fire, battles, lcd soundsystem etc., but very inaccurate. so i’ve decided i’m going to do my own tonight. and i’ll post it tomorrow. unless an album comes out in the next 24 days. then i’ll be buggered. anyway, i read the guardian. it’s a well-written newspaper, and the photography is always stunning. the website is pretty good as well, always a good read.

my friend has come up with an idea of a site where you post things you hate. he’s calling it nojustno.com. look out for it.

dearest citizens of the fallen/falling world…

well, a few things to note.

firstly, the golden compass is out today in the UK. the film i have anticipated for years and years since i first read northern lights, it’s finally out! i can’t wait to go see it. has anyone seen it yet? bastards.

ps:

okay, i’m going to say this once, and once only. i like the new killers single. yes, i know i know. it’s the killers. but it’s lou reed! their new single “tranquilize” is fantastic. it’s quirky and dark and nothing like the killers other stuff. it sounds fairly velvet underground-esque (but no where near as good obviously), and it’s really good. their voices go together really well. as much as i dislike the killers (i used to be a fan) this is worth a listen. there.

well, stats are back! haha, now i can see who’s looking at me… i used to obsess over them, so i’m quite happy. i doubt it’ll do as well as my other blog (like, 650 views a day) but i can always hope! it’s racked up 200 in the first day of recording stats so…

so me and a few friends have joined up to this site called LittleGolem.net. it allows you to play board games online. not in real time. so you just log on and play whenever you get the chance. it’s pretty cool! lemme know your usernames, and invite me to a game of chess or something. my user name is dicko and i have not played long.

anyway, i’m so behind on work, and i still haven’t finished my personal statement (due in last month) so i’m off, ta ta!

black and white.

well, let’s have a look.

most of last week i was ill, like, really ill. so ill i wasn’t in for most of the college week. what is it? really bad flu. yeah, i’m a whiny bitch but i don’t care. haha.

however, saturday i made it to go see leigh. i had to share the train up with my cousin going to see his girlfriend. it was alright though, entertaining at least. we also got the train cheaper too, as we got a duo ticket. that was quite good. anyway, we got to sunderland, and went to leigh’s house for the usual. it was all rather good, and we ate bagels. we also watched (some of) spirited away(distractions haha). it was bloody good. anyway, we eventually went to pick her sister up from work, and the plan was to stay in sunderland so i could catch my train. but it was bloody cold so we went back to leigh’s for an hour, snug in her bed. it was lovely. i went to catch the bus back to sunderland, but there was a crash. so the bus was majorly delayed. and i was going to miss my train.

so the panic began. we rushed back to her house but her parents had had a drink. so we rang up other people with no luck. i couldn’t get in touch with my cousin as his phone battery was dead, so we had to text like 3 people just to get his girlfriends number to phone her to get in touch with him. yeah. in the end, i got a lift to the next stop and made it on the train. just in time! so that was all fun. when we finally got back in redcar, it rained. hard. we got soaking wet on the way home, but i wasn’t allowed to call a taxi. that was pretty gay.

anyway, i had a really great day.

coming soon is the GOLDEN COMPASS. you cannot BELIEVE how much i need to see this film. i’ve been dying for it since i read the book (northern lights) about 5 years ago. we’re going to see it on saturday at newcastle, it’s going to be amazing. or it better be.

i also watched howl’s moving castle over the weekend. studio ghibli films are always brilliant, but this one was the best i’ve seen so far i think.

defined as “art”.

so today is when GUITAR HERO 3 is out. finally. i am going to go to my friends and play the fuck out of it. although he can barely do hard mode so it’ll be a bit of a drag to get him up to speed. but yes, we’re going to play co-op mode i am very excited!

in other news: i am seeing leigh tomorrow. i am more excited about this than anything! although she’s going to see mcfly (don’t ask) tomorrow too. never mind. i found this across the internet somewhere, so enjoy.  it makes me laugh everytime i see it.

punk dance

speaking of which, the mighty boosh last night was EXCELLENT. it really was. although the first episode was a bit off, last night’s episode was absolutely hysterical. my hope in the mighty boosh has been restored! the next episode looks great too. never mind the buzzcocks was pretty good last night as well, not as good as last weeks but still pretty good.

one day i’ll review tv shows.

it’s been a while.

so like, i haven’t been updating this as much as i’d want to. pretty much because i don’t have much to say (for once). it’s been pretty interesting lately though.

firstly, saturday i saw leigh. we went to watch 30 days of night. it was… pretty alright. i guess. it was a typical and predictable horror (though one part made me jump, only once!) but the hero dies at the end, which is pretty unusual.

speaking of films, i saw “the birds” last night. although it’s a really good film, the ending just… well, it’s awful. they just… drive off. i don’t get it. couldn’t they have at least blew the birds up or soemthing? mind, thinking about it now, it is very logical, seeing as the army was possibly being called. for birds. yeah, i did enjoy it though. hitchcock movies always interest me, this one in particular.

anyway, back to saturday. we went shopping (leigh bought me some skinny jeans, when i finally let her) and we had a really nice time. we then went to a pub in sunderland, where i met some new people and got bought a legal pint! which was all good. then i had to go home, which wasn’t all good.

the night i just got drunk. you know how it is.

i am now however ill. my friend lydon is making sure i don’t die, which is good. last night i just stayed in for once. yeah.

i’m running out of things to say. something you might like is that i’m actually using categories again. that’s good.

a genre defining moment.

sorry for the lack of posts, i’ve been dreading to post since my next post is meant to be a huge one about my trip, but i’m going to make it a page instead when i’m ready.

a few interesting things have happened since i returned to lowly old redcar.

like,  my brother being arrested. that was funny. apparently, he wrote his name in a park and was seen doing it. at first he tried to deny it but later admitted it when his friends made him the scapegoat. thing is, this happened like a month ago since he was at his grandma’s when it happened. and the police came a knocking on the door monday and that’s when my mother finally found out. and she was not happy. i thought it was hilarious.

yesterday i went to martins house. now, martin is a complete cunt but he’s still my friend. anyways, i went to his and we helped write a new song for their bands. i became their bands official photographer or whatever and we had fun. lovely. watching videos of stephen lynch on youtube, wondering how the hell he gets away with it all. especially the song about nazis. amazing.

today however i saw my old best friend from primary school in game. he was on a placement there. anyway, he hasn’t half changed. we were really awkward around each other since it’s been absolutely ages since we saw each other. over 6 years now. but it was nice to catch up with him and stuff. he’s been going out with some girl for 3 years now and is engaged. bloody hell.

but yes SOON I PROMISE there will be a big post detailing everything from my trip to birmingham. with pictures! if you want to see some in advanced, check my myspace as there are a few there.

gratitude is only worth it when you get it for free.

in an attempt to make this blog better, i am going to stop saying SO at the start of every fucking entry. oh, and i’m also going to stop swearing… as much.

today was sort of interesting, though the day is only half over. i woke up around 4 a.m, and kept falling asleep and waking up. then at around 7, i got a text from hen since i was supposed to call her before she started getting ready. henrietta is at a wedding today! how nice. but yes we talked for literally 5 minutes then i went back to sleep.

waking up around 10, i finally got round to washing my hair. i have a habit of just not being arsed to wash it. so it gets really greasy. but yes, it is now washed, conditioned and straightened. made an effort today. speaking of hair, i also booked an appointment for the hairdressers. lovely.

got my fucking vans today like. yes, those lovely black and white checkered vans are now mine. cost £32.99. luckily, i didn’t pay for it. i’m saving for this bloody birmingham trip.

anyone know how to play bridge? my grandma and uncle were playing it today, it seems so confusing. there a funny lot my family. they’re very competitive and outspoken. they were playing so seriously for like 10p a win. my uncle david left with 20p and my grandma was not happy. i dunno, maybe its the fact that she lost to him or whatever i don’t know. but they’re funny.

okay, so by trying to make this blog better i made it worse. bollocks.

oh, the answer to my tagged quiz was indeed the hole in my heart story. well done you lot.

and when i get the time, i’m going to teach you lot some good ol’ english slang. i was teaching leindiemeister some, and i’ve forgotten lots, so i’m going to do a nice big post here eventually, watch out for it!

oh, and i’ve been sat here clicking “next” for nearly half an hour. and i’ve come to the conclusion that about 75% blogs on wordpress.com are either complete shite, of interest to about 3 people or are so personal they’re practically private. i think this blog is in this 75%. i was getting alot of blogs about health which is good, but some of them were just crap. i mean, a good health blog would give lots of help and useful recipes and provide support and stuff. these were “EAT HEALTHY.” “HEY FATTY, EAT A CARROT.” etc. utter shite.

i hope that throughout this blog i have entertained at least one person. that would make my day.

here i lie in wait for the end. or was it the bend?

well, not much to report on today really.

i’m definitely going to london on 20th of july. for a few days. that’s going to be hella awesome.

i need to speak to dom urgently about arrangements. if you see this dom, get in touch with me! i have a new phone number, ask mike or some other brit for it and text me or something.

yes, blogs to leave a message, excellent idea.

now, let’s talk about myspace. and how much of a bag of shit it is. really. creating a myspace page is essentially signing your life away to the devil; but not in that sense. no, it’s not addicting (though for some whelps it is), it’s just… UGH. you know, you put a picture of yourself up. great. then you look at other peoples pictures. and they think they’re models and edit their pictures. why? why can’t you put a picture up of yourself, naturally? don’t give me this bullshit about feeling better about yourself or making yourself look better, because if you were so insecure in the first place you wouldn’t put the picture up!  no, they do it for the attention. and why do you take them from such stupid angles people? always looking down. you do realise that that position represents a demeaning value to that person right? so by doing that, AND editing it, you’ve just fucked your image well and truly.

or at least i like to think so. sorry, i just don’t like people who LIVE on myspace and constantly edit all their pictures. please, show your natural self once in a while.
