let’s talk about something different.

MUSIC. i actually adore music, though you wouldn’t be able to tell reading this blog. if you have a slightly similar music taste to me i could talk for hours.

yesterday i saw a video of yndi halda live. yndi halda are an amazing post-rock/indie band from england (where all the best post-rock is from… ahem). it is now my mission to see this band live before i die. they are FANTASTIC. i recommend this band to everyone. their only release, “enjoy eternal bliss” is incredible. energetic yet soft. GET IT.

what am i looking forward to most this year? sigur rós’s new album. seriously, if i ever make love to an inanimate object, it’ll be that cd. their previous release, takk…, i’ve listened through about 200 times, hopipolla even more.

ok i’ve ran out of things to say, it’s hard for me to type when noone responds. hen is still ill, and i can’t take any more of this heat. global warming indeed. i just hope i get to talk to her tonight. i’ve basically been unable to work again due to the heat. i’m sweating like a madman.

When I get a job, I’m buying Sigur Rós’s first album, some Neutral Milk Hotel, some Radiohead, and perhaps Echo and the Bunnymen–the last two mainly because Win Butler is heavily influenced by them. My indie world is a little sheltered because of lack of money and because I find it more novel to own the CD than to download, but I do download when the necessity or opportunity crops up (which is often). On another note, I do agree that most of the best music comes from England. Well, England and Canaaaada, but you’re welcome to disagree. As for American indie, it all has to be from the Midwest, like uh, Sufjan Stevens and Bright Eyes and, well…Azure Ray is located in Nebraska, even if they’re both from like Atlanta, Georgia in the east. ANYWAY.

I get on MSN occasionally; I think my screenname on there is something along the lines of welchs828@hotmail.com. It’s either at hotmail, yahoo, or comcast, but I’m fairly certain that it’s at hotmail.

TECHNICALLY yndi halda have two releases: the self-released “enjoy eternal bliss” with three tracks and personally hand crafted artwork, and the proper 4-track release of “enjoy eternal bliss”
